Course Name: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH (SECTION 16)
Entry Criteria:

All Officers and Ratings (including Saloon Staff) joining Danish Flag Ships

Course Duration: 2.5 Days 20 Hours
Course Description:

The “Occupational Health (Section 16)” course covers the Danish Maritime Authority Order on Safety Work and Occupational Health on Danish Flag Merchant ships, in order that the course participant, as a member of the safety group is able in co-operation with other crewmembers to promote, secure and maintain a good safe and healthy physical and mental working environment on board.

Contents of the Course:

  • Locate the Legislations from the DMA website
  • Recognise the impacts of the Working Environment exposures on board
  • Identify the Roles and Responsibilities of the Safety Organisation
  • Discuss the Safe practices in Handling Paints and Chemicals on board
  • Recognise the importance of complying with Workplace Instructions
  • Identifies the measures that need to be taken before one performs work on board ships
  • Discuss the process of risk management and Incident investigation.
