Entry Criteria: |
Officers must hold a COC (Any Grade), 3 month sea-time on any tanker prior to 9 June 2015 (in the last 5 years) or have done a UK MCA tanker training course prior to June 2015. OR In case 3 months sea time on any tanker prior to 09 June 2015 is not done then Basic Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations – UK MCA approved* and Tanker Fire-fighting – UK MCA approved* will need to be completed. In case 3 months sea time on any tanker prior to 09 June 2015 is not done, but Candidates who have done Basic Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations course – UK MCA approved, but not UK MCA approved Tanker Fire Fighting, can attend this course but Certificate will be issued on completion of UK MCA approved Tanker Fire Fighting course. |

Course Description: |
This course provides training for masters, chief engineers, chief officers, 2nd engineers and any person with immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of chemical cargoes. Those with “immediate responsibility” will normally include all deck officers and may include other seafarers who could be placed in charge of a cargo operation (e.g.deck/cargo engineer, pumpman, and bosun). The course takes full account of Section A-V/1, Table A-V/1-1-3 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended in 2010. |
