Course Name:	SPECIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR THIRD OFFICERS

Course Duration:	3 Days 24 Hours

Course Description:

The special training course for third officers is designed for a candidate who has freshly obtained his II-mates certificate of competency and is to join his first ship as a certificated officer. It is also for existing third officers to boost up their knowledge and skills in various aspects of their job. The aim of this course is to ensure that on completion of training the candidate will be better prepared to undertake the duties of a Third Officer on board a vessel and enable him to translate the knowledge gained through his CoC examination into practical working skills to be applied in day to day operations on board the ship.

Contents of the Course:

Duties and responsibilities of a Third Officers on board

Keeping a Deck Watch during Cargo Operations

Procedure of taking - over from the outgoing third officer

Log book entries

GMDSS - Test Procedures

Safety Equipment – Maintenance and Test Procedures Keeping Records

Limitations of Navigational Equipments.
