Course Name: TANKER VETTING INSPECTION (FOR OIL TANKER)
Entry Criteria:

All Deck & Engine Officers (i.e. Master, C/O,2/O,3/O, J/O,C/E.2/E,3/E,4/E, E/O all with TASCO and atleast 3 months on tankers)

Course Duration: 1 Days 8 Hours
Course Description:

Vetting Inspections have become an inseparable part of Tanker Operations today. Every Oil Major prior to taking a ship on charter conducts an inspection to vet the ship to determine whether the vessel is maintained and operated properly to industry standards of safety and quality.

Contents of the Course:

  • Inspection requirements
  • Preparing for the inspection using SIRE, Checklists and some additional requirements of specific oil majors
  • Identification of High Risk Areas
  • Preliminaries with the Inspector
  • Conduct of the Inspection
  • Administration and Record Keeping
  • Common Pitfalls and Deficiencies as per SIRE database
  • Actions post-inspection.
