This course consists of structured training wherein the construction, operations and maintenance to be done on the Deck Crane are described. The Training course is designed to improve the participant’s knowledge to operate the machinery in an efficient manner. The participants are introduced to the General Arrangements and then the parts of the Deck Crane, Safety Alarms - Cutouts / trips, Hydraulics basics, Electrical and Hydraulic Circuit tracing are taken up and discussed important Maintenance that are to be carried out on the Crane. Case studies of the breakdown of the machinery are discussed and root cause analysed followed up with recommendations to prevent recurrence of the breakdown. Electro hydraulics cranes used for cargo operation on bulk carriers and container ships are well covered in the training course. |
